Growing up on a dairy farm is no easy lifestyle. You are up at 4:30am to milk the cows, feed the calves, take a shower and go to school. Funny enough, school was a relief only to return home at 2:30 to scrape the pens, put up hay, pick rock from the fields, milk the cows again and feed the calves. Oh yeah, you have to be a kid too! But, this work teaches you how to work hard, how to appreciate life, and how to take care of something you care about. That is what Rachel has done with her career and her passion.
After trudging through a high school education in Southern Indiana, Rachel went on to Indiana State University to pursue a degree in Athletic Training with a double major in Exercise Sciences. Upon graduation, she worked with a Minor League Baseball team, High School football team, and a Collegiate sports program as an Athletic Trainer. She took full time work at 22 with a Health and Wellness program in Cape Coral, FL. as she trained for marathon and half marathon distances. After a few years working in Florida, she transferred to Salt Lake City, UT to train for Ironman. That was fun, what else is there? Rachel moved to San Diego to continue her education process and received the NCTMB in bodywork. After personal training and athletic training for four years, bodywork was the next step.
Rachel moved to San Francisco in 2004, developed a solid coaching business, opened Aim Fitness, and is still developing her skill set by her training in Active Release Techniques, Level II Triathlon Coaching certification, and designing progressive programs for people desiring long lasting change in health and wellness. Rachel now runs Aim Fitness, coaches athletes, and competes regularly. She will constantly be working on the education process. You can never know enough about the human body and mind. Rachel plans to continue growing Aim Fitness as one of the Bay Area's best training facilities with beginner to advanced programs and equipment for athletic performance. She is headed to her fourth World Championships in Vancouver Canada and plans to challenge the 50 mile trail run again in December with her brothers Will and Greg.
Everyone has an athlete within them. Rachel wants to tap into the inner athlete. The human body is so amazing. You give it a stimulus and it responds. You tell it what to do, it is hard the first time, then it can adapt. She will amaze you with her desire to make you fitter, stronger, faster, and all without risking your health. That is the physical aspect, now there is the mental aspect. Never before have you had a coach to push you, support you, listen to you, and be your mental interval when you need it. Competing at a high level takes dedication, skill, desire, and mental stability. Though this is not therapy, there is a huge mental component in training that has got to be flowing in a positive direction. Rachel Does her best to get into the inner person and figure out what drives you to be your best. She will guide you through a process of self acceptance, ability recognition, self reliance, and love of self. With this process, you become a better athlete, friend, co-worker, spouse, and human being.
